Nepal Red Cross Society has implemented the Sanitation, Hygiene and Water Management (SHWM) project in targeted
four earlier VDCs (Deulekh, Rayal, Kailash and Sainpasela) and selected three wards of Jaya Prithivi Municipality (ward
10, 11 and 12) in Bajhang district since July 2014 with financial supports of Australian Government and Australian Red
Cross in line with the sanitation and hygiene policy and plans of the Government of Nepal with aims to enable vulnerable
individuals and communities in the targeted rural areas to address their water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) related
needs, and to increase equitable access to and use improved WASH facilities among targeted communities. The project is
being phase out by the end of June 2018. This end line study provides analytical information about achievements of
impact, outcomes, sustainability and effectiveness of the SHWM project in the intervention areas.
