Africa

The IFRC Africa Region Office coordinates water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives from arid Sahel communities to densely populated urban centers. Many African countries face unique WASH challenges including climate change-induced droughts and floods, rapid urbanization and persistent funding gaps.

Working through National Societies, our WASH programming prioritizes innovative, locally-led solutions to water, sanitation and hygiene services that respect local customs while advancing public health and building community resilience.
