The 3FM pneumonia programme 2017 – 2021

The 3FM Pneumonia programme was a flagship integrated community health programme implemented in 5 countries (Ethiopia, Mali, Sudan, Zambia, and Cote d’Ivoire) with support of the
Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) from January 2017 to December 2020, with some final evaluations and closing activities in 2021. The programme was funded through a public radio campaign called the ‘3FM Serious Request’, organised by the 3FM radio station and NLRC in 2016. Figure 1 presents a broad timeline of the 3FM programme.

The integrated community health programmes aimed to reduce child morbidity and mortality due to pneumonia, a major health problem and cause of death among children under five years of age.
