WASH-FIT Training of Trainers, MENA region (IFRC, WHO & UNICEF) 2025

What is this training?
A regional Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop on the WASH-FIT (Water and Sanitation for Healthcare Facility Improvement Tool) for Red Cross and Red Crescent staff, jointly organized by IFRC, WHO and UNICEF. This training was held in Amman, Jordan from October 5-9, 2025. The training teaches participants how to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene services in healthcare facilities and how to train others in their own countries.

Format and length
5-day in-person workshop. There was simultaneous Arabic and English translation.

Key content
Covers the WASH-FIT methodology for assessing and improving healthcare facility conditions. Includes conducting facility assessments, risk analysis, creating improvement plans, and monitoring progress. Also covers adult learning techniques to prepare participants to deliver WASH-FIT training in their own countries.
