Training exercise: Spot the problems with a sand dam

This is a training exercise for community volunteers to practise recognising common problems with sand dams, such as a missing wing wall, poor foundations or unprotected water. Participants look at a drawing, find what is wrong and suggest practical solutions. It helps volunteers learn what to check when they inspect and maintain a sand dam. An answer key is included for trainers.

Time: 60 mins
Format: Small group work
